Talks with Russian president
On 16 April 2000 Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin who was on a working visit to Belarus. It was the first foreign visit of Vladimir Putin as the head of state.
The two presidents met at the government residence Zaslavl-1. Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin held one-on-one talks. Later the two leaders were joined by members of their delegations. The parties discussed the full array of Belarusian-Russian relations. Then the heads of state met with media representatives.
