Oleg Belokonev appointed First Deputy Defense Minister 

President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has appointed Brigadier General Oleg Belokonev Head of the General Staff – First Deputy Defense Minister. Oleg Belokonev was relieved of the post of the Commander of the Special Operations Department of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.

The head of state appointed Colonel Vadim Denisenko Commander of the Special Operations Department of the Armed Forces. He was relieved of the post of the Deputy Commander of the Western Operational Command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.

The President signed the corresponding decrees on 11 January.
