Nationwide subbotnik in Belarus on 20 April
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has tasked the government, central state government agencies, and local executive bodies with arranging a voluntary nationwide subbotnik on 20 April.
People can spend the subbotnik (a voluntary labor day) doing their jobs, beautifying populated localities, war memorials and graves, preparing children recreation camps for the summer.
Half of the sum to be earned during the subbotnik will be spent on preparing children recreation camps for the summer, including the development and enhancement of the physical infrastructure and on taking measures for holding the Year of Frugality in 2013. The other half will be spent on buying special ambulances fully fitted with equipment required for resuscitation.
