Ceremony to launch construction of Yamal-Europe gas pipeline section in Belarus

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko took part in the ceremony to launch the construction of the Yamal-Europe transcontinental gas pipeline section in Slonim District on 23 October 1996. In his speech, the head of state stressed that the construction of the new gas pipeline will open up big transit opportunities for Belarus.
