Meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev

Belarus and Russia agreed to jointly search for ways to rectify negative economic trends. The matter was discussed at the meeting between Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Russian Premier Dmitry Medvedev in Sochi on 31 January.
Although those were informal talks, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Dmitry Medvedev discussed the whole range of issues pertaining to bilateral relations. The talks were a continuation of the telephone conversation between the Presidents of Belarus and Russia on 28 January.
Aleksandr Lukashenko and Dmitry Medvedev also discussed the results of the talks between the Prime Ministers of Belarus and Russia in Saint Petersburg on 29 January.
The meeting highlighted mutual trade and ways to increase it. The President and the Prime Minister also touched upon the cooperation between the countries in the integration associations and considered some issues related to the Eurasian Economic Union.
