Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Austrian Foreign Minister, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Sebastian Kurz on 5 July.

“We have good relations with Austria,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. He also stressed the foreign minister’s significant contribution to the development of Belarus-Austria relations.

The president emphasized that the events of the 26th OSCE PA Annual Session in Minsk show once again that today the countries are dealing with multiple issues that require joint efforts.

For his part, Sebastian Kurz thanked the Belarusian leader for the opportunity to meet on the sidelines of the forum. “I think the fact that Minsk is hosting the OSCE PA session is a very important positive signal. I am glad that we have an opportunity to talk about bilateral relations between Belarus and Austria,” the minister added. “I am happy to be here as the Austrian foreign minister and as the OSCE Chairman-in-Office. We can discuss not only aspects of bilateral relations, but also issues on the OSCE agenda that, unfortunately, includes many problems associated with the Ukrainian crisis,” Sebastian Kurz noted.
