Belarus is interested in the enhancement of all-round cooperation with Vietnam, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Belarus Do Van Mai whose diplomatic mission in the country is expired.
The President thanked Do Van Mai for the work he has done as the Ambassador of the fraternal country. According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, the Belarusian side hopes that the successor of this diplomat will also do his best to advance bilateral relations because “we are interested in bolstering not only our trade and economic cooperation but also all-round interaction.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked that Vietnam is one of the most influential states not only in the Asian region, but also in the world. The Belarusian President expressed confidence that Vietnam will be one of the world’s most developed countries in the coming decade. “When building relations with your country, we would like to take part in this robust development,” the President said.
“We, in turn, are ready to do our best to promote the interests of Vietnam here, in the center of Europe. You are aware of our strong sides, besides we have singed the free trade zone agreement on behalf of the Eurasian Economic Union with you. I think that there are no obstacles for the development of trade and economic relations today,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
The meeting also focused on the visit of the Belarusian President to Vietnam which is scheduled to take place at the end of 2015. The sides will discuss a number of projects which will help advance bilateral cooperation to a brand-new level.
