Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko extended greetings to pilot-cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union
Piotr Klimuk to congratulate him on his 75th birthday.
“Your life is a vivid example of selfless service to the fatherland. Courage, professionalism, high attainment, responsibility and dedication have enabled you to become an outstanding pilot-cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union. We are proud of you, our famous countryman, the first Belarusian who went into space,” reads the message.
The president stressed that Piotr Klimuk contributed greatly to the implementation of the projects to design the Belarusian space vehicles that operate in the orbit today and help address important social and economic goals.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Piotr Klimuk good health, inexhaustible energy, further successes in scientific and public activities.
