Dear friends,

I send my best greetings to the participants of the international conference “Baptism of Rus in the fates of peoples of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine: Choosing a civilized path”.

For more than 1,000 years Christianity shapes ethnic and esthetic ideals common for all Eastern Slavs, serves as a foundation of moral and cultural traditions. Today it plays a crucial role in strengthening moral values, promotion of unity, peacefulness and mutual help.

Versatile activity of the Eastern Orthodox Church always resonates in the Belarusian society. Constructive cooperation between the state and the Belarusian Exarchate allows to jointly implement humanitarian projects, restore unique ancient shrines and build new churches.

I am convinced that the conference which brought together a lot of scientists and clergy will help unite Slavonic nations, realize huge consolidating power of Christianity, its creative and cultural role.

I wish health, every success in spiritual and scientific activities for the benefit of our nations to all participants.
