Greetings to Germany President Frank-Walter Steinmeier

    Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, as the country celebrates Unity Day.

    The head of state remarked that three decades ago German people demonstrated unity and commitment to building a modern state for peaceful and prosperous life for many generations of Germans.

    “Today Germany occupies a special place on the political map of the world, supports development and progress, makes a big contribution to the resolution of global and regional problems,” the message of greetings reads. “In spite of the complicated historical legacy, Berlin is an important partner for Minsk. Our countries are united by numerous ties and versatile joint projects which help expand economic and humanitarian contacts, promote mutual trust and security.”

    According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, he hopes to resume joint work in various fields during the period of Germany’s presidency in the EU Council in H2 2020.

    The Belarusian President wished Frank-Walter Steinmeier health and every success in his responsible work. He also wished German people peace and solidarity.
