Greetings to China President Xi Jinping
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashneko has sent greetings to President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping as the country celebrates the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II in the Pacific.
“Having started as a national liberation movement of the Chinese people against Japanese invaders, China’s heroic fight for freedom and independence became part of the universal resistance to fascism and militarism,” the message of greetings reads. “Thanks to the unparalleled courage, tenacity and patriotic spirit, the Chinese people impeded the advance of Japanese aggressors allowing the allies to focus on other fronts.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus and China, who selflessly fought for peaceful life, made an invaluable contribution to the common Victory and determined the happy and quiet future of descendants. “We honor the heroic feat of the generation of victors who defeated the enemy and restored the countries from ruins. Our states concertedly oppose any attempts to rehabilitate fascism, militarism and to falsify history,” the head of state said.
According to the President, as one of the most severely affected countries in World war II Belarus will continue doing its best to commemorate the common heroic past and to prevent the repetition of a similar tragedy.
“Mutual support in difficult times and common historical memory serve as a solid foundation for all-round partnership between Minsk and Beijing, fill bilateral cooperation with practical constructive meaning,” the Belarusian President said.
