Distinguished Belarusians honored with state awards

    A number of distinguished Belarusians have been decorated with state awards in recognition of their long-lasting fruitful work, exemplary fulfilment of service duties and professional excellence, big personal contribution to flora and fauna protection, development of the construction industry, banking services, the energy system, railway transport, powder metallurgy and machine-building, achievements in education, music, physical education and sport. President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the relevant decree on 15 April.

    The Order for Service to the Motherland III Class has been conferred on major general Igor Lavrinenko, colonels Sergei Bogdanov, Oleg Voinov, Leonid Kasinsky, Sergei Novikov, Valery Cherenkov, lieutenant colonels Boris Bratsun, Roman Shabanets.

    The Order of Francysk Skaryna has been bestowed upon professor of the composing chair of the Belarusian State Academy of Music Dmitry Smolsky.

    The medal for excellent military service has been presented to colonels Ivan Boguslavsky, Vladimir Berikbayev, Vladislav Budik, Sergei Gorbach, Oleg Konovalov, Oleg Krivonos, Alexei Pechko, Alexander Shevchenko, lieutenant colonels Valery Goloveiko, Alexander Mosolov, Sergei Turulin, Vyacheslav Shcherbin, Vladimir Yaroshevich, captain Stepan Domasevich.

    The medal of Francysk Skaryna and the medal for labor services have been conferred on 33 people.

    The People's Artist of Belarus title has been bestowed upon professor of the composing chair of the Belarusian State Academy of Music Andrei Mdivani. The Honored Worker of Culture of Belarus title has been presented to Alla Igumnova, creative director of the boy’s chorus of the Brest Oblast Palace of Culture of the Belarusian Federation of Trade Unions.

    The Honored Scientist of Belarus title has been conferred on Alexander Ilyushchenko, director general of the state scientific and production association of powder metallurgy – director of the Powder Metallurgy Institute. The Honored Worker of the Manufacturing Sector of Belarus title has been bestowed upon director general of the state scientific and production association Tsentr Vladimir Borodavko and director general of OAO BelAZ – managing company of BelAZ Holding Company Piotr Parkhomchik.

    The Honored Rescuer of Belarus title has been conferred on Valentin Karpitsky, former First Deputy Emergencies Minister, major general of the internal service.
