Distinguished Belarusians honored with state awards
State awards of the Republic of Belarus have been conferred on 49 workers of various industries for their excellent work, high professionalism, fruitful work in judiciary and educational bodies, in the field of nature management, printing, science, culture, and sports. President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the relevant decree on 9 February.
The "Order for Service to the Motherland" Third Class was bestowed upon six military. Among the awardees are Vladimir Sulimov, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Chief of the Central Operations Command, and Oleg Zemskov, Commander of the Missile Forces and Artillery of the Armed Forces. Moreover, 24 military were awarded medals for excellent military service.
The Order of Honor was conferred on Sergei Gurov, judge of the Supreme Court, Alexander Rachevsky, head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Sergei Saputo, chairman of the Belarusian Society of Deaf People.
Seven people were awarded medals for labor services. Among them are Anatoly Osipov, First Vice Rector of the Belarusian State University of informatics and Radioelectronics, and Igor Malanyak, director of Krasnaya Zvezda Company.
The Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus title was bestowed upon singers of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater Oksana Volkova and Vladimir Gromov. Choreographer of the Belarusian State Dance Ensemble Alexander Aleshkevich was awarded the Honorable Worker of Arts title.
First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court Alexander Fedortsov was awarded the Honorable Lawyer of the Republic of Belarus title.
The Honorable Worker of Culture of the Republic of Belarus title was bestowed upon chief engineer of Poligraphkombinat Company named after Yakub Kolas Alexander Aksenenko.
Director of Gymnasium No. 5 of Brest Lyudmila Omelyanyuk was awarded the Honorable Teacher of the Republic of Belarus title.
Gennady Kazakov, Chief Signals Officer of the Armed Forces, and Viktor Marshalovich, head of the department for Information Technologies of the Military Academy of Belarus, were awarded the Honorable Specialist of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus title.
The Honorable Coach of the Republic of Belarus title was presented to main coach of the Belarusian Olympic football team Georgy Kondratyev.
Moreover, Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent an official letter of thanks to Tatyana Leshchiskaya, chief researcher of the special education laboratory of the National Education Institute of the Education Ministry.
