When speaking at a closing ceremony in the Minsk football manege the head of state thanked the Spanish guests for their game. The victory in this match is a big holiday for all Belarusian sports fans, the head of state underlined.

The president called Max Mirnyi and Vladimir Voltchkov true sports heroes. This success should give an impetus to the development of the Belarusian tennis.

President also wished success to Max Mirnyi and Vladimir Voltchkov at the Beijing Olympic Games. “You can achieve success in the doubles, if not in the singles,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

During the official ceremony the head of state gave presents and souvenirs to the winners, all participants and organizers of the match.

Aleksandr Lukashenko specially thanked the Belarusian fans who were supporting the athletes during the three days of the tie and helped them achieve success.
