On 16 January Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Ordinance No. 1 “Concerning additions and amendments to President’s Ordinance No. 7 of 5 March 2002 and Ordinance No. 24 of 28 November 2003”.

The ordinance aims to implement Decree No. 332 of 26 July 2012 “Concerning a number of measures to improve control (supervisory) activity in the Republic of Belarus” and envisages revision of the terms of reference of supervisory bodies.

Therefore, the norm to provide the State Science and Technologies Committee with the authority to supervise venture projects was added to Ordinance No. 7 of 5 March 2002 “Concerning improvement of state administration in science”.

The Interior Ministry has been excluded from the list of bodies in charge of the supervision over the targeted use of foreign gratuitous aid in line with Ordinance No. 24 of 28 November 2003 “Concerning receipt and use of foreign gratuitous aid”.

The ordinance shall enter into force in ten days after its official publication. This is a provisional document which is to be submitted to the National Assembly of Belarus in line with Article 101 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.
