Commentary to Decree No. 524 “Concerning the privatization of housing in the state-owned housing stock”
On 13 November President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 524 “Concerning the privatization of housing in the state-owned housing stock”.
The document aims to lift impediments for the privatization of housing in Belarus.
Due to the absence of technical passports and state registration in a number of apartments owned by municipal bodies or the state (there are about 114,000 such apartments in Belarus), the decree enables organizations which own or operate such housing to make decisions on privatization.
