Ceremony of laying wreaths at Victory Monument in Minsk

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has laid a wreath
at the Victory Monument in Minsk on the Day of Fatherland Defenders and the
Armed Forces of Belarus.
Participating in the ceremony were the representatives of public bodies, the National Assembly, courts, the Security Council and the Armed Forces, law enforcement bodies, the Belarusian Association of Veterans, the Minsk City Hall and the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, the CIS Executive Committee, the diplomatic corps, public associations, the Belarusian Orthodox Church, and the Roman Catholic Church. They also laid wreaths at the monument.
After a minute of silence and the national anthem the Guards of Honor and the army orchestra marched past.
After the ceremony Aleksandr Lukashenko talked to those partaking in the event. Addressing the President, they expressed hope that the situation in the country will be good. The head of state answered that Belarusians should not doubt about it. “We need to move forward,” he said. He added that it is needed to encourage local executives to worker harder.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Happy Fatherland Defenders’ Day and every success to those present at the meeting.
