Br3bn from Presidential Fund to be spent on cultural projects
Over Br3.1 billion will be earmarked by the Culture and Art Support Fund of Belarus’ President to finance creative and other projects. This instruction has been signed by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko.Br420 million will be allocated for the Polotsk National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve for the restoration and preservation of historical and cultural property. Br118 million will be earmarked for the National History Museum.The Youth Stage Theater and the Maxim Gorky National Academic Drama Theater will receive Br680 million and Br500 million to buy stage equipment and other kinds of equipment.The presidential fund will also finance the purchase of music instruments for the folk brass band Vitiny. The instruments are estimated at nearly Br200 million.Br950 million will be provided to the Center of Visual and Performing Arts ART Corporation to organize and conduct the 20th Minsk International Film Festival Listapad.The Bogdanovich Literature Museum will receive Br50 million to arrange the exhibition timed to the release of the Venok poetry collection of Maxim Bogdanovich.The decision to finance the projects will help implement socially important initiatives, enhance the qualifications of museum staff and demonstrate constant support for the Belarusian culture on the part of the state.
