Belarus President’s special fund to support 1,043 talented young people
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed an executive order to approve the resolution of the Belarus President’s special fund to support talented students.
In particular, the document approved the resolution to support 1,043 students. The fund awarded scholarships to the tune of Br825,000 in the first half of the 2014/2015 academic year to 182 students of universities and military academies.
Monetary prizes and lapel badges were bestowed upon 34 winners of various international academic excellence competitions.
Monetary prizes were also conferred on winners of international student Olympiads, competitions and tournaments, nationwide professional excellence competitions and contests.
Special prizes were conferred on 246 pedagogues, scientists and other specialists who made a big contribution to the development of talented students in the 2013/2014 academic year.
Apart from that, the fund provided financial support to two scientific associations of students which are going to improve their material and technical base.
The President’s executive order is a testimony to the state’s constant attention and support of young talented people.
