Belarus President congratulates Darya Naumova on Olympic silver medal
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated
Belarusian weightlifter Darya Naumova on winning silver in Rio.
“On behalf of all Belarusian fans I congratulate you on winning the silver medal at the 31st Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. You passed this important sport exam with honor, demonstrated remarkable skills, moral courage and commitment. The country is proud of your sport achievement,” the head of state noted.
According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, this medal is especially valuable as it is the first one won by Belarus at the ongoing Olympic Games. The President of Belarus expressed hope that Darya Naumova’s success will add confidence to all Belarusian athletes ahead of new Olympic competitions.
“I believe that we will celebrate your new successes together many times. I wish you and you teammates and coaches great health, happiness, every success and new victories,” noted the head of state.
