Belarus, Iran mark 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations
President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as the two countries celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
“During this period the two friendly countries and peoples managed to create a solid foundation for mutually beneficial cooperation in various industries needed to successfully implement economic and investment projects, promote partnership in the bilateral and multilateral formats,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted. “I am convinced that our joint efforts will help enhance prolific ties, yield new practical results in the Belarusian-Iranian relations,” he added.
The President of Iran has also sent greetings to his Belarusian counterpart. In the message Mahmoud Ahmadinejad remarked that Belarus-Iran relations have always been based on equality, mutual understanding, peaceful and fair attitude to regional and international challenges.
