Aleksandr Lukashenko sends name day greetings to Metropolitan Filaret

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk Filaret, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus on his name day, the Day of Saint Filaret the Kind.

“Your prelateship is a paragon of tireless service to people. You, according to the Writings, have become a benign pastor, an example for the faithful uniting everyone with your heartiness and benevolence. Many generations of priests and laypeople are grateful to you for your attention, understanding and wise counseling,” the message of congratulations says.

The head of state wished the Metropolitan strong health, inexhaustible spiritual and physical strength and the help of God for the good of the Orthodoxy and the people of Belarus.
