Aleksandr Lukashenko sends greetings to participants of Assembly of Hierarchs of Russian Orthodox Church

    President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, participants of the Assembly of Hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church.

    “This remarkable assembly symbolizes inseparable unity of all Orthodox hierarchs. Conciliar examination of urgent problems of the religious life conforms to the commandments of Christ in the best way possible. This is an example of the church unity and firmness of thousand-year traditions which make Orthodoxy the moral stronghold, the resort of mercy, truth and kindness,” the message of greetings reads.

    “This assembly is held in the year when we celebrate the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus which made Slavonic people forever bound by a common historic fate. I am convinced that the efforts of the Assembly of Hierarchs will contribute to enhancing spiritual brotherhood and multilateral cooperation of our nations,” the Belarusian head of state remarked.
