Aleksandr Lukashenko sends condolences over passing of director Alexei German

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has expressed condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of People’s Artist of Russia Alexei German.

“The creative work of Alexei German left a bright mark in the history of modern cinematography. He was a wonderful director whose films depicted the genuine truth of life, authenticity of people’s relations. It is no accident that every film of Alexei German became a cultural event and was loved by people,” the head of state remarked.

“People in Belarus appreciated Alexei Yuryevich for his talent, strong character and devotion to art. It is with pain and sorrow that we have learned the news about his passing,” the message of condolences reads.
