The Belarusian agribusiness should increase export as much as possible and expand the geography of exports. It is necessary to achieve higher economic performance indicators in this strategically important branch of economy. The statement was made by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko at the state awards ceremony on 17 September.
Aleksandr Lukashenko sincerely thanked the awardees for their success in labor, creative achievements, for many years of service to the Fatherland and a proactive approach to life.
“Awards are not only the recognition of your merits and high praise of what you do, but a proof of the respect for you,” the President noted. “You were nominated for these awards by your labor collectives where you demonstrated your skills and the best human qualities on a daily basis. Like a full river takes power from springs, the success of the country is determined by merits of individual people,” he added.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that the awardees represented different spheres of activities and different regions of Belarus but they were united in their love for the Fatherland, a love expressed not by words but concrete deeds, the concrete successes and achievements that benefit the Belarusian nation and constitute the foundation of the young sovereign state.
The head of state noted that it was not accidental that a large group of executives, specialists, and agricultural workers were among the awardees.
According to the President, Belarus pays close attention to the development of agribusiness and thinks highly of the contribution of farmers to the food security. Belarus-made foods are famed far and wide and enjoy constant demand in Belarus and many CIS and non-CIS states. Therefore, it is now necessary to export more of them.
“Certainly, we are going to talk about it in detail during the annual harvest festival Dazhynki when we sum up results of the work of grain growers,” Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked.
The President thanked heads of farming enterprises for many years of efforts put into increasing the output, introducing the latest technologies, building homes, accomplishing agro-towns, and developing the social and cultural sphere in rural areas. The enterprises are OAO Murava (Pruzhany District), the farming enterprise Rodina (Belynichi District), Alexandria-Agro (Kamenets District), the farming enterprise Dobrovolets (Klichev District), Krasny Boyets (Kirovsk District), and Gorodeya (Nesvizh District).
The awardees included famous artists, cultural figures, scientists and educators. Orders and honorary titles were bestowed on painters, singers, musicians, actors, sculptors, writers, museum workers and teachers of art universities.
“This is an eloquent testimony to the utmost priority our state attaches to all fields of the national culture, to the support and appreciation of talented people,” the President stressed.
In recent years we have done a lot to renovate theaters, refresh their repertoire, organize concerts, revive our holy places and historical monuments. According to the head of state, this should contribute to cultural and moral development of the national, creation of a positive image of the country.
Aleksandr Lukashenko pointed out a special role of all cultural figures of Belarus. “You will determine in many ways the cultural legacy of our generation, the generation that established Belarus’ first independent state,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that the awardees included many people who guard the law and order, maintain social and political stability and security of the state. In his words, exceptional professionalism, sympathetic attitude to people and exemplary service are inherent in the best representatives of the police, Prosecutor-General’s Office and Supreme Court judges.
The Belarusian President underlined; “Take it as our utmost respect for your merits and an incentive for new achievements”.
