Aleksandr Lukashenko meets with top officials of Belarus President Administration and Minsk City Council

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has ordered to organize a proper meeting of Belarusian Olympians who will soon return to Minsk  from the Sochi Olympics. The head of state set this task during the working meeting with top officials of the Belarus President Administration and the MinskCity Hall on 19 February.

Aleksandr Lukashenko decided to send to Sochi the presidential plane which will fly the Belarusian team, coaches and specialists back to Minsk.

The head of state also instructed the officials to organize a proper welcome for the team in the Minsk airport. “Think how it should be done. Do not forget about the coaches because while in biathlon we achieved success mainly thanks to Darya Domracheva’s efforts, in freestyle it all happened first of all thanks to Nikolai Kozeko. Maybe we can say he is a world class specialist,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

A ceremony to honor the Olympians at the presidential level will take place at the Palace of Independence. The athletes will also get state awards at the ceremony. “And do not forget about the Hero of Belarus title. It should be celebrated in a proper way,” the President stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also gave an instruction to prepare the Belarusian capital to welcome the Olympians, primarily the appearance of streets.
