Aleksandr Lukashenko meets with State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota
President of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State Aleksandr Lukashenko met with State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota on 4 March.
The meeting was held in the run-up to the session of the Supreme State Council which will take place in St. Petersburg on 15 March. The sides discussed the agenda of the forthcoming session.
“I would like to discuss this issue once again and make sure that you are prepared for the session. It is necessary to look into the issues which are to be discussed. Perhaps, during this period of time we will find more topics for discussion,” the President remarked.
Participants of the meeting discussed the issues on the agenda. “The relations between the states are normal. Yet, there are always issues, especially when the situation in the world is not very calm, including the situation in the economy,” the Belarus President underlined.
Grigory Rapota, for his part, pointed out that it was important to discuss the agenda and all the related issues with the Chairman of the Supreme State Council before the session in St. Petersburg.
The session of the Supreme State Council is expected to focus on three blocks of issues regarding the Union State budget, foreign policy and Belarus-Russia trade and economic relations. Grigory Rapota said that participants of the session may also discuss other issues connected with the overall performance of the Union State, its development and prospects.
