Aleksandr Lukashenko extends condolences over passing of Valentin Rasputin
President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended condolences to the family and friends of Hero of the Socialist Labor Valentin Rasputin over the death of the writer.
“An outstanding person and thinker whose name is inseparably connected with the best traditions of the soviet and modern Russian literature died. His wonderful works Farewell to Matyora, French Lessons, The Last Term, Live and Remember, and many others are very popular all over the world,” the message of condolences reads.
“People in Belarus appreciated Valentin Grigoryevich [Rasputin] as a person with strong moral principles, an honest man dedicated to his work, a proactive public figure. Blessed memory about his bright talent will always live in people’s hearts,” the President noted.
