Aleksandr Lukashenko extends Belarusian Written Language Day greetings

    Belarus treasures its spiritual roots, cherishes the achievements of past generations and makes convincing headway relying on this solid foundation, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko said in a message of greetings to the participants and guests of the Belarusian Written Language Day.

    “This is a significant event for the state. Over 20 years the holiday has been celebrated all over the country. This year it is held in the hospitable Bykhov District. The anniversary of the Belarusian Written Language Day once again reminds us about the values glorified in books, namely respect for the individual, moral purity and selfless love for the native land,” the message of greetings reads.

    According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, it is symbolic that this year the Belarusian Written Language Day and Knowledge Day are celebrated together. “For the Belarusians a word, knowledge, and spiritual values have always been the backbone of national development, support in overcoming difficulties and obstacles,” he said.
