Aleksandr Lukashenko expresses condolences over passing of Andrzej Wajda
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has expressed
condolences to Krystyna Zachwatowicz, the widow of Polish director Andrzej
Wajda.
“He was well known in Belarus as one of the pioneers and the leading representatives of the Polish cinema school, a person with an active civil position,” the message of condolences reads.
The head of state remarked that Andrzej Wajda’s films showed a unique view of the world and made people look for the answers to the perennial questions. The director’s creativity became an indispensable part of the European film legacy.
