Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulates HC Neman on defending Belarus’ champion title

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated HC Neman on the victory at the 22nd Belarus Extraleague Open Ice Hockey Championship.

“In a fair and hard-fought battle you have taken the champion title for the second year in row, demonstrating a high level of professionalism. It is great that a regional club has become a leader. It means that sport is developed in every corner of our country. In order to win, you do not have to be close to the capital or have authoritative sponsors. The main thing is to be the strongest. This is the result of the colossal work of athletes, coaches and all those who made their contribution to this victory,” the head of state said.

“Your play made your fans happy, and I am confident that you have become an example to follow for thousands of young players. Keep it up!” the President told the athletes.
