Belarus’ Initiatives in the Eastern Partnership and Other Organizations
The Republic of Belarus consistently promotes the idea of integration of integrations, which provides for dialogue and practical cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union in areas of common interest such as transport, customs, trade, combating economic crimes, etc. In the long term, such cooperation can lead to the formation of a common economic space “from Lisbon to Vladivostok” which will feature harmonized conditions for the activities of enterprises, uniform product standards and similar conditions for transcontinental cargo and passenger flows in the interests of the member countries of both integration unions.
As a member of the Eastern Partnership initiative of the European Union, Belarus is in favor of implementing specific economic projects, developing equal pragmatic cooperation and reducing tensions in the region. In 2010, Belarus initiated a business forum, and in 2015, it put forward an initiative of a new digital dimension of the Eastern Partnership.
