Concerning the bestowal of the special prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus to the figures of culture and art in 2014

On 30 December President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 650 “Concerning the bestowal of the special prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus to the figures of culture and art in 2014”.
In 2014 the President of the Republic of Belarus presented ten special prizes. The awards were conferred on figures of culture and art, pedagogues, groups of authors, cultural institutions for outstanding achievements in choreography and public art, cinema and video production, restoration of the historical and cultural heritage, development of museology, arts and crafts, and education of talented youth.
The prize was bestowed upon the Medunitsa band of the Mogilev Oblast Philharmonic which made a big contribution to the preservation and development of traditional Belarusian music.
A group of workers of the Stolichnoye Televideniye TV channel comprising director of the special projects department Alexei Adashkin, correspondent of the information broadcast department Olga Makei received the prize for the production of the cycle of documentaries Shai-BY!
A group of authors comprising workers of the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Research Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Yelena Boganeva and Tamara Varfolomeyeva, pedagogue of the Vetraz Advanced Education Center in Oktyabrsky District of Minsk Nikolai Kozenko received the prize for the preparation of the fundamental scientific publication “Traditional Art of Belarusians”.
The prize was also conferred on a group of experts comprising dean of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts Lyudmila Domnenkova, director of GUDART Company Piotr Lobkovich, worker of the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Research Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Boris Lazuko for the productive creative and scientific work to revive traditions of the national culture and a personal contribution to the creation of the exposition at the Museum of History of Slutsk Belts in the town of Slutsk, Minsk Oblast.
The special prize was presented to workers of the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial for a big contribution to the preservation of the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War and the creation of the new exposition in the southeastern barrack pg the Brest Fortress Citadel “The Museum of War – the Territory of Peace”.
Workers of the Modern Arts Center received the prize for a big contribution to the promotion of Belarus’ modern fine art and the organization of high-profile exhibitions.
The award was also conferred on workers of the Neglyubka weaving center, Vetka District, Gomel Oblast, for big achievements in the restoration and development of arts and crafts, preservation and promotion of traditional technologies of towel production.
The prize was conferred on chief specialist of Minskaya Spadchyna Company Sergei Baglasov for a big personal contribution to the restoration of historical and cultural complex of the Freedom Square in Minsk.
