Decree No. 330 of 30 June 2014

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 330 “Concerning the state support of foster families” on 30 June 2014.

The document aims to improve the mechanism of state support provided to the families which adopted orphans and children left without parental care and to promote adoption in the country.

The decree envisages that monthly allowances will be provided to the families with adopted children permanently residing in Belarus. Monthly allowances that were previously paid to the families with children who were adopted abroad will be provided to such families until foster children turn sixteen.

Monthly allowances will be paid to foster parents after they provide documents to local executive bodies.

The decree also provides for new measures to state support of families that adopted children aging from 3 years old to 16 years old permanently residing in Belarus.

They will be able to take an unpaid vacation for the period of up to 90 calendar days within six months after the adoption order enters into force. This vacation will be provided to one of foster parents to help children adapt in new families.
