Independence Day greetings from foreign leaders

Foreign heads of state, foreign political and public figures, heads of integration associations have sent Independence Day greetings to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and the Belarusian nation.

Congratulatory messages from the Pope, the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the kings of Belgium and Thailand have already been received.

Presidents of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Venezuela, France, Germany, South Korea, Austria, Latvia, Bulgaria, Hungary, the UAE, Turkmenistan, Vietnam, South Africa, Singapore, Palestine, the prime ministers of Cuba, Russia, and Armenia have already congratulated the Belarusian nation and the head of state on Belarus’ Independence Day.

Letters of greetings have been also received from Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev, Acting Secretary General of the CSTO Valery Semerikov.

The message sent by President of Russia Vladimir Putin on the occasion of Independence Day and the 75^th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from Nazi invaders reads: “Our nations hold sacred memory about the courage and heroism of those who took up arms to defend the Fatherland in the rough years of the war. It is important that ties of brotherly friendship and mutual aid bequeathed by our fathers and forefathers remain the guarantee of solid Russian-Belarusian relations. I am convinced that through joint efforts we will continue advancing constructive bilateral cooperation in all areas as well as mutually beneficial integration processes within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and in the Eurasian space.”

Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev sent a message of greetings on behalf of the Russian government and himself. “Russian and Belarusian peoples have been connected by close ties of friendship and mutual support since ancient times. At present these ties make up a solid foundation of strategic partnership and unity between our countries,” he stressed.

Dmitry Medvedev praised the development of bilateral trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation, increasingly vibrant ties between business communities and regions. “Important work concerning further integration within the framework of the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union is in progress. I am convinced that through joint efforts we will continue developing Russia-Belarus ties across the board,” the message of greetings reads.

The message sent by President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping reads: “In the last few years, political stability, sustainable economic development, and growing living standards of the nation have been preserved in Belarus thanks to your firm leadership. The overall power of the state and its influence in the international arena continue rising. China is sincerely glad to hear it as a good friend and a good partner of Belarus. I am convinced that Belarus will make even more progress in state building.”

According to Xi Jinping, he draws very much attention to the development of China-Belarus relations and values strong friendship with Aleksandr Lukashenko. “In H1 2019 we met two times in Beijing and Bishkek and agreed on further cooperation. I am prepared to join efforts with you to promote the development of China-Belarus relations, trust-based comprehensive strategic partnership, and mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of the two countries and nations,” the Chinese leader stressed.

The Belarusian head of state also received greetings from first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

“Under your skillful and wise leadership Belarus carries out large-scale transformations with a focus on long-term development priorities to ensure sustainable growth, enhance the country’s international authority and strengthen national unity. I am convinced that through joint efforts we will continue bolstering ties of friendship between the two countries and mutually beneficial cooperation in the spirit of strategic partnership and mutual support,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said. He also invited Aleksandr Lukashenko to pay an official visit to Nur-Sultan where the sides would continue their dialogue on the bilateral and multilateral agenda.

Nursultan Nazarbayev, in turn, praised Belarus’ gradual social and economic development. The country plays a more active role in the resolution of international issues and deepening of the Eurasian integration. “We value the relations of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Belarus relying on traditions of friendship, mutual respect and trust. I am convinced that close bilateral cooperation will be developing for the benefit of our peoples,” the first President of Kazakhstan said.
