Aleksandr Lukashenko sends New Year greetings to foreign leaders

    Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has wished a Happy New Year to foreign leaders.

    The head of state sent greetings to the top-ranking officials of the Russian Federation, leaders of partner countries from integration associations, other heads of state all over the world, heads of international and regional organizations, renowned political, social and religious figures, representatives of science, culture and business circles from various countries.

    The message of greetings addressed to Russia President Vladimir Putin reads that the year 2019 will mark the 20th anniversary of the Union State Treaty. “The Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation have gone a challenging way, but today we can say for sure that the union of the two nations is an accomplished organization,” the message of greetings reads.

    The head of state expressed confidence that further efforts to protect the interests of the two countries in the Union State relying on deep trust and respect will give a serious impetus to the development of the entire spectrum of bilateral relations.

    In a message of greetings to Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed confidence that the year 2019 will herald further expansion of the friendly ties between the two countries, enhancement of the trustworthy interstate partnership, development of the mutually beneficial versatile cooperation.

    “I am convinced that all-round Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation relying on the principles of mutual respect and constructive partnership will be expanding in the best interests of our countries,” the message of greetings addressed to Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev reads. The Belarusian head of state hopes that the new year will be a period of further close cooperation.

    Aleksandr Lukashenko sent a message of greetings to Moldova President Igor Dodon. In it he expressed confidence that in 2019 the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries will be developing in the spirit of friendship, mutual understanding and trust.

    In a message of greetings to Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon the Belarusian leader said that the traditions of mutual respect between the two nations serve as a solid foundation for the entire spectrum of bilateral interaction. “Tajikistan is a reliable and time-tested partner for us. The relations with this country are built on the unshakable principles of friendship, mutual benefits and respect for the interests of each other.”

    The Belarusian President also wished a Happy New Year to Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He expressed confidence that the agreements reached in 2018 will be a solid foundation for the enhancement of the strategic partnership of the two courtiers.

    In a message of greetings to Kyrgyzstan President Sooronbay Jeenbekov the Belarusian head of state remarked that in 2018 Belarus- Kyrgyzstan relations continued to develop in a comprehensive and productive manner.

    Aleksandr Lukashenko praised a good dynamics of Belarus-Syria relations, mutual focus of the two states on the strengthening of traditionally friendly ties. “I am sincerely convinced that in 2019 peace and accord will be reinstated in Syria, and Syrian children will never see the war again,” the message if greetings addressed to Syria President Bashar al-Assad reads.

    The head of state also wished a Happy New Year to Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko, Armenia President Armen Sarkissian and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Turkmenistan PresidentGurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Federal President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen and Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, Poland President Andrzej Duda, Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic, Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, France President Emmanuel Macron, Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro, U.S. President Donald Trump, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Raul Castro Ruz and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-CanelBermudez.

    The Belarusian President also receives numerous New Year greetings from foreign leaders, heads of international organizations, public and religious figures. Aleksandr Lukashenko has already received greetings from the CIS leaders, the President of the People’s Republic of China, the Federal President and the Federal Chancellor of Germany, presidents of Poland, Hungary, the Republic of Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Iran, the Prime Minister of Japan, secretaries general of the United Nations Organization and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, high-ranking officials from other countries and representatives of other international organizations.
