On 5 July Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko made a working trip to Shklov District, Mogilev Oblast.

The head of state took part in the Kupala Night celebration (Alexandriya Gathers Friends) which is annually held in the Alexandriya agrotown.

The President said that the Night celebration in Alexandriya helps strengthen unity between the peoples of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. “In ancient times our ancestors united their efforts to lay the foundation of our statehood and defend their homeland from foreign aggressors. For many centuries, the unity of Eastern Slavs has been the source of our strength,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

The President also mentioned the situation in Ukraine: “Unfortunately, the Slavonic unity has cracked. We should do our utmost to resolve the situation in our brotherly country – Ukraine  – as soon as possible.
