All the conditions for everyone to be able to earn a decent salary have been enabled in Belarus, however, it is necessary to make some effort to get the money. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement while talking to residents of Malorita, Brest Oblast, on 15 August.

“Only lazy people don’t earn well in Belarus. There is no war going on here, is there? You just have to make an effort,” said the President.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that everyone should count primarily on his or her own abilities. “You have to understand that nobody will get money without an effort,” he said.

Yet the President underlined that the state will always support those, who truly need it. “We will provide aid. If you make a step, we will make a step to meet you, I mean the entire country will. But if you sit idle and wait for someone else to bring you something, then you know, god helps those who help themselves,” stated the Belarusian leader.

The President remarked that the state highly prioritizes large families as far as state aid is concerned. “Demographic security is a number one issue for us,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

Army personnel represent another category. “We have to help the military because they cannot do work on the side,” added the head of state.
