Vasily Matyushevsky appointed Belarus’ representative in EEC Council

    Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has appointed First Vice Premier of Belarus Vasily Matyushevsky as Belarus’ representative in the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the Union State. The relevant decree was signed on 30 January.

    The head of state also appointed Vasily Matyushevsky Belarus’ coordinator on the CIS issues, relieving Sergei Rumas from the post.

    According to the press service, the decision was made to ensure representation and protection of interests of Belarus in the Union State, the Eurasian Economic Union and the Commonwealth of Independent States, and to ensure the implementation of state policy in the corresponding areas.
