Telephone conversation between Aleksandr Lukashenko and Petro Poroshenko

    Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko called Belarusian head of state Aleksandr Lukashenko to ask to engage Belarus as a negotiating platform to solve the Ukrainian crisis. The telephone conversation between the presidents of the two states took place on 29 July at the initiative of the Ukrainian side.

    The heads of state discussed a number of issues of mutual interest.

    "The President of Ukraine asked the Belarusian head of state to engage the Republic of Belarus as a site for negotiations involving all the parties concerned to solve the Ukrainian crisis. Aleksandr Lukashenko agreed with this initiative,” said the press service of the president.
