Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko heard out a report of Belarus’ KGB Chairman Valery Vakulchik on 4 September.

The KGB head informed the President about the operational situation in the agency’s zone of responsibility, current trends, potential challenges and threats which can affect the interests of the national security of the state, and other issues.

The meeting also focused on the protection of the country’s economic interests, further development of the international cooperation of Belarus’ KGB in the prevention of transboundary crimes, including terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal trade in weapons and ammunition.

After the report and the analysis of the current situation in the country, Aleksandr Lukashenko gave a number of concrete instructions.
