On 25 April Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Belarus’ Interior Minister Igor Shunevich.

The meeting focused on the crime prevention results in Q1 2016, the fulfillment of previous instructions and a number of initiatives of the Interior Ministry to introduce amendments to the Administrative Violations Code, stepping up efforts to prevent grave crimes.

The head of state gave an instruction to systematize information on this topic in the near future and discuss all the proposals at the session with interested bodies.

Another issues on the agenda was the development of HC Dinamo Minsk. Igor Shunevich is the chairman of the supervisory council of this ice hockey club.

The President noted that he also talked to Chairman of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation Igor Rachkovsky who, together with Igor Shunevich, is responsible for the development of HC Dinamo Minsk. “This is a major club, the basis of our national team,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

The head of state emphasized that the IIHF World Championship will kick off soon, and added that he will listen to a corresponding report after the tournament. “We will need to discuss certain things. Let’s discuss this issue as well,” the President said.

“I am not going to interfere with the personnel placement. This is your prerogative. You can consult anyone, but the results should be seen next year. We are spending a lot of money. By the way, it is needed to spare these funds. And the efforts should yield results. You understand it just as well as I do,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
