Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the team of the Alesya magazine on the 95th anniversary of the first issue of the magazine.
“The history of the magazine began when participants of the 1st All-Belarus Congress of Women Workers and Peasants of 1924 put forward an initiative to establish a women’s magazine,” the message reads.
The head of state noted that over its history the magazine has changed its names several times but has not changed its message. The publication keeps promoting women’s empowerment and showing women as active participants of a political, social and cultural life of the country.
“It would not be an exaggeration to say that Alesya shaped several generations of Belarusian women – proactive, educated and responsible. The publication still makes a meaningful contribution to the creation of a positive image of a Belarusian woman, to the upbringing of our youth and promotion of family values,” the President underlined.
Aleksandr Lukashenko is convinced that the magazine’s team will stick to its professional principles and good traditions. He wished authors and readers of the magazine happiness, well-being and many successes for the benefit of Belarus.
