Greetings to participants of event dedicated to 135th anniversary of birth of Yanka Kupala
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the participants of the festive event dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the birth of People’s Poet of Belarus Yanka Kupala.
“The star of Yanka Kupala has risen in a life-changing era when Belarus was doing its first steps to statehood. Thanks to the power of his talent, the poet determined the development path of the Belarusian language and culture, laid out spiritual milestones for many generations,” the message of greetings reads. “Therefore, we, the citizens of the sovereign country, are proud of Yanka Kupala’s legacy and are doing our best to promote and preserve it for our descendants.”
The head of state expressed confidence that the events marking the poet’s birthday will strengthen unity in the society and celebrate creative talents of the Belarusian nation.
