Fatherland Defenders Day greetings

    Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to soldiers, sergeants, warrant officers, officers and all Belarusians as the country celebrates Day of Fatherland Defenders and the Armed Forces of Belarus.

    “Thanks to your commitment to the Homeland, loyalty to military duty and readiness to protect the interests of the country and people, you personify the strength and power of our sovereign state,” the message of greetings reads. “In the year of the 75th anniversary of Great Victory we honor the memory of officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the future of the nation. We bow down before those who died in combat fulfilling their international duty. We admire the courage and bravery of all people who defended peace with weapons in their arms and who are now in charge of maintaining peace and accord on home soil in the face of new global challenges.”

    The president expressed confidence that the feat of the Great Patriotic War veterans, courage and bravery of internationalist soldiers, eagerness of all people serving in the army to continue glorious traditions of older generations are a good example of true patriotism for Belarusian youth.

    Aleksandr Lukashenko wished compatriots strong health, professional achievements and peaceful service.
