Distinguished Belarusians honored with state awards

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko conferred state awards on 93 representatives of various professions in recognition of many-year productive work, exemplary fulfillment of service duties, attainment of good results in the manufacturing sector, construction and agriculture, a big personal contribution to the development of the state information policy, healthcare, trade, education, culture and art. The corresponding decree was signed by Aleksandr Lukashenko on 4 August.

The Order for Service to the Homeland 3rd Class was conferred on Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council Major General of Police Alexander Konovalov, First Deputy Interior Minister – Head of the Criminal Police Department Major General of Police Valentin Mikhnevich and head of the Interior Department of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Major General of Police Igor Yevseyev.

The Order of Honor was presented to Professor of the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine Semyon Abramov, Director of the Physical and Organic Chemistry Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Alexander Bildyukevich, Director General of the BelTA News Agency Dmitry Zhuk. The same award was bestowed upon head of the construction and utilities control department of the Minsk office of the State Control Committee Vera Matsulevich, head of the communications and automated systems department of the BelTA News Agency Samuil Ryzhevich and First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Chizhik.

Commander of the CRJ-100 jet of the aviation unit of Belavia Alexander Bukreyev received the Medal for Courage. The same award was conferred on flight attendant Yelena Murzak.

A big group of workers of various industries received medals for excellence in military service, maintenance of public order, state border protection, prevention and mitigation of emergencies, excellent labor and the medal of Francysk Skaryna.

The People’s Artist of Belarus title was conferred on chief master of stage of the Gomel Oblast Philharmonic Hall Galina Pavlenok.

Apart from that, a number of people received the Honored Artist of Belarus title, the Honored Figure of Arts of Belarus title, the Honored Figure of Culture of Belarus title, the Honored Scientist of Belarus title, the Honored Worker of Education of Belarus title, the Honored Doctor of Belarus title, the Honored Worker of the Services Sector of Belarus title, the Honored Worker of Prosecution Bodies of Belarus title.
