Distinguished Belarusians honored with state awards

State decorations of the Republic of Belarus were bestowed upon representatives of various professions in recognition of many-year productive work, exemplary fulfillment of service duties, attainment of good results in the manufacturing sector, construction and science, improvement of the energy system and implementation of the national information policy, and also in recognition of a big personal contribution to the development of healthcare, transport, education, culture, art and sport. The corresponding decree was signed by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko.

The Order of Fatherland 3rd Class was presented to Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Oleg Belokonev.

The same award was conferred on Commander of the North-Western Operational Command of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Andrei Ravkov and head of the Aviation rescue group of the Emergencies Ministry Colonel of the Interior Service Oleg Yakovlev.

The Order of Francysk Skaryna was bestowed upon member of the Belarusian Union of Artists Zoya Litvinova.

A big group of military, workers of law enforcement and emergencies bodies were decorated with medals for excellence in military service, maintenance of public order, prevention and mitigation of emergencies. Among the awardees are head of the international military cooperation department of the Defense Ministry Colonel Yuri Bobruisky, head of the military strategy chair of the General Staff Department of the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus Colonel Artur Naumenko, deputy head of the criminal investigation police department of the Minsk City Council Colonel of Police Sergei Bessmertny, head of the Luninets District emergencies department Colonel of the Interior Service Nikolai Oreshkevich and deputy head of the combat readiness department of the Gomel Oblast office of the Emergencies Ministry Colonel of the Interior Service Alexander Savchenko.

The medal for excellence in the state border protection was given to head of the frontier outpost of border protection group No. 86 Major Ilya Solodukha.

Many people received medals for excellent labor. Among the awardees are hospital administrator of the Mogilev Oblast Oncology Clinic Anton Lysov, director of Novogrudok-based plant of gas equipment Viktor Turlyuk and director of the Grodno State Construction College Svetlana Khrapko.

Head of the heat and power units department at the A.V.Lykov Heat and Mass Transfer Institute of the NASB Valentin Borodulya received the medal of Francysk Skaryna.

The People’s Artist of Belarus title was bestowed upon chief master of stage of the Mogilev Oblast Drama Theater Grigory Belotserkovsky.

A number of people were awarded the Honored Figure of Arts of Belarus title, the Honored Worker of Education of Belarus title, the Honored Doctor of Belarus title, the Honored Worker of Agriculture of Belarus title, the Honored Worker of the Energy Sector of Belarus title, the Honored Worker of the Transport Industry of Belarus title, the Honored Worker of Physical Education of Belarus title.

Apart from that, the President signed a decree to confer medals for impeccable service 1st, 2nd and 3rd class to a big group of workers of law enforcement, emergencies and border protection agencies.
