Distinguished Belarusians honored with state awards
State awards have been conferred on 134 people from all walks of life in recognition of many years of dedicated work, high professionalism and exceptional performance of their duties, courage and bravery in difficult situations, a great personal contribution to the strengthening of Belarus’ authority on the international arena, development of legislation and parliamentarism, Belarusian journalism, petrochemical industry, transport and the tax system, significant achievements in the energy sector, science, culture and art, training of highly qualified specialists.
The Order of Fatherland 3rd Class has been conferred on Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei, Rector of the Belarusian State Economic University Vladimir Shimov, Director of the Powder Metallurgy Institute Aleksandr Ilyushchenko, Director General of ZAO Vitex Viktor Tereshchenko.
Medical Director of the Republican Clinical Medical Center of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate Irina Abelskaya, Chairman of the Belarusian organization of the officers of engineering troops Pavel Gutenko, senior editor of the News Department of the BelTA News Agency Alina Shrubok have been decorated with the Order of Honor.
The Order of Francysk Skaryna has been bestowed upon consulting professor of the Chair of Commercial Activities on the Domestic and Foreign Markets of the Belarusian State Economic University Gennady Korolenok.
Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Dvoyezhonov, commander of the self-propelled howitzer artillery battalion of the 841st guards artillery group of the 11th separate guards mechanized brigade of the Western Operational Command of the Armed Forces, has been Honored with the Medal for Saved Life.
The Medal for courage has been conferred on Sergei Kutsenko, former senior firefighter of rescue and firefighting department No. 18 of the Frunzensky District Emergencies Department of the Minsk City Department of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry.
A big group of the military and law enforcement has been decorated with medals for excellence in military service, maintenance of public order, state border protection.
Many people have been decorated with the Medal for Labor Merits. Among the awardees are production manager of SOOO Belwest Vadim Alkhimenko, First Vice Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus, member of the House of Representatives if the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Valery Borodenya, chief veterinarian of OAO Gorodeya, Nesvizh District, Natalia Busko, turner of OAO Naftan Leonid Vasilevsky, chairman of the Permanent Commission for Budget and Finance of the House of Representatives if the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Lyudmila Dobrynina.
The same has been presented to editor of the English Translations Department of the External Communications Center of BelTA Natalya Kovalevskaya, Chairperson of the Permanent Commission for Labor and Social Issues of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Tamara Krasovskaya, Dean of the Finance and Banking Department of the Belarusian state University Natalya Lesnevskaya, Director of the Belarusian gas processing plant of Belorusneft Sergei Pashkov, Director General of the Brest-based enterprise Bakaleya Valentina Khandoshko, Deputy Director General - Head of the External Communications Center of BelTA Marta Chvei, head of the Historiography and Historical Research Department of the History Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Valentina Yanovskaya.
The Medal of Francysk Skaryna has been bestowed upon art director of the Valery Abel Circus Tatyana Abel, ballet dancer of the State Academic Dance Company of Belarus Aleksandr Glazko, Dean of the International Business communications Department of the Belarusian State Economic University Natalia Popok, chief stage performer of the Grodno Oblast Puppet Theater Lyudmila Pavlovskaya, head of the Zashirye culture and sports center Yevgeniya Shadrina, Editor-in-Chief of the BelTA Publishing House Galina Golovataya and senior photographer of the Photo Processing and Editing Department of BelTA Leonid Shcheglov.
In accordance with the decree, honorary titles of the Republic of Belarus have been conferred on workers of culture, art, science, education, manufacturing and architecture.
The People’s Artist of Belarus title has been bestowed upon chief stage performer of the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater Zoya Belokhvostik. The Honored Artist of Belarus title has been conferred on singer (soloist) of the Mogilev Oblast Philharmonic Iskui Abalyan-Borovskaya. The Honored Figure of Arts of Belarus title has been presented to associate professor of the Interior Design Chair at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts Viktor Barabantsev. The Honored Figure of Culture of Belarus title has been conferred on first deputy editor-in-chief of the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House Mikhail Lebedik. The Honored Scientist of Belarus title has been conferred on head of the Economic Theory Chair of the Belarusian State Economic University Viktor Vorobyev.
Workers of Belarusian universities also received the Honored Worker of Education of Belarus titles. Among the awardees is professor of the Economic Sociology Chair of the Belarusian State Economic University Valentina Simkhovich.
The Honored Worker of the Manufacturing Sector titles have been conferred on workers of Belarusian enterprises. One of them is deputy production manager of OAO Naftan Vladislav Nikolayev.
