Commentary to Decree No. 201 of 30 May 2019
Belarus is adjusting its reward and incentives system for athletes to encourage better performance in Olympic sports. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed corresponding Decree No.201 on 30 May.
The document revises the amounts of scholarships and rewards for athletes succeeding in international competitions. The European Games have been included into the list of competitions that envisage scholarships and rewards for successful performance.
The document envisages a one-year extension of the scholarship for injured athletes, thus creating the necessary environment for their prompt and proper recovery.
Apart from the rewards for successful performance of visually impaired athletes, the decree stipulates rewards for their guides.
