Belarus, South Korea mark 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations

    Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the Acting President of the Republic of Korea, Hwang Kyo-ahn, as the two countries mark the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

    “The Republic of Korea was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Belarus in 1992. I am glad to mention that many outstanding events in various avenues of Belarus-South Korea cooperation have taken place since then,” the message of greetings reads.

    The head of state noted that Minsk and Seoul cherish common values, including peace and stability, the rule of law in international relations, and honest interaction in the resolution of modern challenges. Belarus and the Republic of Korea pay special attention to the creation of the innovative economy, support of scientific research, development high-tech manufacturing and information technologies.

    “All that creates a good foundation for the further expansion of bilateral dialogue and quick realization of the existing potential in the attainment of practical results for the benefit of the two nations,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
